Expanding from the homophonic pronunciation of "bee" and "fragrant" in the Taiwanese language, Nest's primary image is that of a "honeycomb" and is presented in the form of installation art within the space.
The entire space is enveloped in a plant fiber paper material, featuring regular hexagonal grids and irregular waves and undulations. This not only avoids creating a sense of oppression but also provides a sense of stability within the "nest." This also metaphorically represents a "place of belonging," visualizing and experiencing the image of bees returning to their hive.
The design of the wine menu echoes the hexagonal design of the space's tabletop. The cover is made of specially treated matte silver cardboard, inlaid with coasters and coins, and includes a clever design element in the selection of beverages that allows guests to interact with the mixologist in a fun way. We welcome you to come and explore it for yourself!
The design inspiration for the coasters began with the concept and spatial characteristics of the "nest," which echoed the vitality of the honeycomb. We hope that when the coasters are placed on the table, they can provide a form of space for carrying and receiving sensory and conceptual information. Therefore, we imagined the safety of the space being transformed into "ripples" caused by raindrops falling from the top, as well as the "stacking" of thoughts and forms. In addition to organic shapes, the color theme for this design uses dark colors and incorporates "coins" that can be placed in the center for use in one aspect of the exhibition. The difference in height created by the stacking can also safely hold the glasses used for serving drinks. Throughout the design and testing process, we were filled with passion and creativity.
